Abstract : In this study, the concept of autonomous mobility is applied to a rehabilitation service robot. The aim of the robot development in this study is for rehabilitation remedy of the elderly or disable people. A robot system moved by driving wheels is added on a BWS (Body Weight Support) and the wireless internet communication. The BWS known as a representative performance indexes for a gait rehabilitation. As the robot is traveling autonomously, the robot can help more actively for the elderly or disable people who is on rehabilitating. The modified BWS mechanism was applied for the gait rehabilitation. This mechanism was designed for measuring the up-lift force in gait rehabilitation. Using the wireless internet communication, the mobile robot can give the informations to the clients. The clients as a doctor or a supporter can be accessed remotely to the gait rehabilitation information, i. e. the walking velocity, BWS signals and location information in large construction indoor. The mobile robot with the BWS function and the wireless internet communication could be confirmed the ability of the gait rehabilitation remedy through many experiments. keyword : BWS (Body Weight Support), Gait Rehabilitation, Mobile Robot, Wireless Internet Communication
