XML Schema design for Prescription Transmission

Abstract : HTML that is used to transmit information in the current is impossible to express structure of information and program language that use static information model is limited to information transmission and conversion. Also EDI has problem is expensive because it use private line. XML Schema which is means to define structure and contents of document and meaning system makes up for limitation of structure expression and is able to transmit information through internet but DTD which is to define document type is impossible define is impossible to express definition of input rule and data type. Therefore, in this paper, XML Schema is designed to draw up and communicate prescription information that hospital, pharmacy, patient and national health insurance have to exchange each other to structured XML. Structure of prescription that is based on the prescription form which is published in the Ministry of Health-Welfare is expressed hierarchically using XML Schema and use XML to make document and to express this. When embodied XML Schema is used, exchanging prescription information is possible as structured form, and it can be applied easily in the business and application of system such as hospital, pharmacy and national health insurance where prescription information is used. This XML technology can be utilized to process various data and to exchange them with the change health system of the times.
