Abstract : Biological pathways can be regarded as a collection of knowledge. But the knowledge about pathways is incomplete and covers only tiny portion of genes. Otherwise, microarray data are incessantly cumulated with the aid of recent technological advances. These data are still coarse to analysis, but it is possible to measure the expressions of thousands of genes simultaneously under a variety of conditions. In this paper, we propose a model to find suitable genes with which biological pathways can be extended from microarray expression data. We hope that our approach can contribute to establishing methodological concepts in similar attempts and our result can give insight in exploring biologically untapped territories.
