Abstract : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the utility of Clinical Care Classification for categorizing nursing records from a hospital setting. Nursing records of 100 patients in surgical ward and 144 patients in medical ward were used, in result nursing statement comprised 1,409 nursing phenomena and 1,506 nursing actions. All nursing statement could be categorized using the nursing components and 76 major categories which was modified major categories and subcategories of Clinical Care Classification. The results suggest that the Clinical Care Classification will be adequate and appropriate for categorizing nursing records keyword : Clinical care classification, nursing record, nursing statement, Standardization
