Abstract : An automated extraction method for clinical pathway was proposed in this paper. The patient group for interested diagnosis extracted from the EMR system was purified and the necessary clinical items for experiments were picked out on the basis of length of stay and the operation day. Then, the general case of patient group from interested diagnosis was extracted using a probability distribution. Finally, the clinical order data from implemented general case was grouped and classified using the method of medication frequency centralizing and symbolizing of lab result. From the analysis of special order, medication, injection, diagnostic examination, radiological examination, special examination, physical treatment, anesthesia, and treatment material, the sampled clinical data was grouped and classified to extract the patient and order group according to specified diagnosis. From the experimental result, a GUI-based clinical support program for development of clinical pathway was implemented to display the essential and operational item for medical examination and treatment, and verified by clinical expert cross each other, and to make it easy to modify the basic pathway model.
